Wonderful, free admission Visitor's Center. Full of interactive touch screen displays, and still photo presentations of life at the Homestake Gold Mine.
Very educational and interesting! Enjoyed it very much! And a wonderful view of the Open Cut Hole!!
Hanging model of all the levels mined is a modern work of technical art, and is worth the drive!
Occasional public presentations by the Sanford Underground Lab science people make for a highly educational science tourism stop.
Nice museum offers a window (pun intended) into the experiments working to reveal the secrets of the universe.
This is a very nice upgrade from the previous Homestake Mine Visitor Center. My only disappointment was the lack of history that was shown here. I understand that the Lab is the future and that this was paid for by the Lab, however a little more talk about the past would have been nice. Seeing and explaining the Lab itself was very good and the importance was great.
The Visitor's Center has souvenir items for sale, as well as a very thorough selection of Black Hills Gold jewelry.
Informative and well presented visitors center for the former gold mine turned current underground science lab. Plus, lots of great merch!
All-in-all, an excellent stopover for anyone's itinerary. It's open all year, as well!
